REDUCE REUSE RECYCLE

To minimise the waste we generate, we reuse all boxes and packaging we receive our purchases in to ship out orders. If it looks like your box has been used before, it most probably has!

Wherever possible, we reuse, recycle or compost. This has meant that the waste we generate is now down to one black bag a week. We recycle cardboard, paper, plastic, glass, tins, ink cartridges, cans.

PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT

All of us are aware of the many and complex environmental issues that face
a business. Initiatives we are working on currently include:

a. biodegradable and compostable packaging for our clothing to replace the plastic bags used at present.

b. minimising the amount of packaging required by incorporating a reusable bag as part of the product.

c. a rolling programme to replace all materials used to manufacture our current range with environmentally friendly materials. Our Autumn 08 /
Spring 09 casual range will be the first to be replaced with some recycled
and organic materials.

CHARITABLE DONATIONS

We are working to raise awareness of the plight of the sharks and we donate significant funds to the Shark Trust. We designed a line of Save Our Shark
t-shirts: for every t-shirt sold we donate £3.00 to the Shark Trust. Since the campaign started in November we have raised over £4,000 for the trust.

USE OF RESOURCES

Water - We are not connected to a mains water supply and get water from our own well! We also have a septic tank.

Electricity – We use a "green" provider who generate some of their power from renewable sources, which do not produce harmful emissions or depend on finite reserves of raw materials.

We have a car share scheme for staff and encourage cycling to work.
